This Privacy Policy explains how Miscap! ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use miscap.app (the "Service"). We built Miscap! to be a fun, low-friction game — we only collect what we need to make that happen.

2. Information We Collect

Waitlist signup: If you join our waitlist before launch, we collect your email address and, optionally, your phone number.

Account information: If you create an account, we collect your username, email, and city (city is used only to show you on a local leaderboard — we never collect or store your precise location or street address).

Usage data: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site (pages viewed, general location at the country/city level, device type). This data is aggregated and not tied to your identity unless you're logged in.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To notify you when Miscap! launches (email and/or SMS)
• To operate your account, track points, and run the leaderboard
• To send you round results, badge unlocks, and a weekly recap (you can opt out anytime)
• To improve the Service based on aggregated usage trends
• To prevent fraud, abuse, and vote manipulation

4. We Don't Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. Period.

5. Who We Share Data With

We use trusted third-party services to operate Miscap!. These providers only receive the minimum data needed to perform their function:

• Supabase — database and account storage
• Resend — sending emails (confirmations, notifications)
• Twilio — sending SMS notifications (only if you opt in)
• Mux — video hosting and playback
• Google Analytics — aggregated site usage data
• Vercel — website hosting

6. SMS Communications

If you provide your phone number, you consent to receive SMS messages from Miscap! related to launch notifications and account activity. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP.

7. Your Rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing hi@miscap.app. If you have an account, you can also delete it directly from your profile settings once the app is live.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections and secure database access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information.

9. Children's Privacy

Miscap! is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected with a new "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
